Prologue is a pioneering new company, started by CEO and entrepreneur Dwight Bryant. Dwight has built a successful career and a successful business with Innovated Machine & Tool Co., based in Newport News, Virginia, but his heart belongs to Tennessee. He was born in the small town of Whitwell and has always wanted to bring something back to his home. With Prologues, he has found a way to fulfill his vision for the American energy industry and for the community where he got his start.

In the 1970s, Dwight launched Innovated as a small machine shop that, with his vision and leadership, has grown into a multi-million dollar business with over 50 dedicated employees and loyal customers. Raised with the belief that America should be a worldwide leader in innovation and manufacturing, he is passionate about creating good jobs, making great products, and taking care of our natural resources. These core values and some truly out-of-the-box thinking are what lead to Prologue Corporation.

Prologues are the brain child of Dwight’s efforts to solve a problem for Newport News, one facing communities around the country. After being asked to be a member of the city’s efficiency committee, he was charged with improving local leaf collection issues. That was the genesis of Prologue’s groundbreaking approach: taking a truly renewable resource— leaves—and turning them, along with other wood bio-mass (tree trimmings, storm debris, and other materials normally heading to the landfill), into a compressed log, a new energy source. After much research and collaboration, Prologues were born.

Prologues are a truly green, renewable source of energy that will be keeping families warm and making a positive impact on our environment. As we manufacture Prologues, and eventually the machinery required by the process, it will create new opportunities for the workforce of Whitwell, Tennessee.
